Data Engineer

Your role

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer for a high-tech semiconductor customer in The Netherlands.

What you are going to do

● Designing and building end-to-end data pipelines that handle complex business logic, with input from stakeholders along the way

● Running data quality checks and making sure data stays clean, accurate, and reliable throughout its journey

● Working closely with Data Scientists, Business Analysts, and other teams to turn business needs into scalable data solutions

● Spotting data-related challenges and bottlenecks early and finding smart, efficient ways to solve them

● Taking ownership of the solutions you build, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving production incidents when needed;

● Working as a T-shaped engineer – bringing deep expertise in data engineering while maintaining broad enough knowledge across the wider data and technology landscape to understand, discuss, estimate, and troubleshoot beyond your primary area of expertise;

● Keeping up with the latest tools, trends, and best practices in data engineering, and bringing fresh ideas to the table;

● Supporting and mentoring colleagues, sharing your knowledge of solid data engineering practices.

This is you

Naturally, you are committed, driven, and enjoy working in a world that is constantly changing. To do that successfully, you need:

• Have strong hands-on experience with Python, PySpark, SQL, Git, and Databricks;

• Have experience with Azure and Azure Data Services, such as Data Factory, Data Lake, and AKS

• Have a knack for analyzing data, spotting patterns, and turning insights into action

• Can explain complex technical topics in a simple way, whether you're talking to a teammate or a stakeholder

• Have hands-on experience working in Agile environments, such as Scrum

• Are proactive, dependable, and comfortable taking ownership

• Have excellent written and spoken English skills

• Experience with data visualization and monitoring tools

• Understanding of data security and privacy best practices

• Experience migrating existing pipelines from on-prem Hadoop environments to Azure cloud services
